Laboratory
In parallel with the separation process, blood samples which were collected into test tubes arrive at a testing laboratory. A dozen tests are performed to establish the blood type and to test for infectious diseases. Test results are transferred electronically to the processing center as soon as possible. If a test result is positive, donated blood will be discarded and the donor will be notified.
